A big thank you to everyone who supported our young carers and Chief Operating Officer, Alison, in their 2.6 k Challenges. In total you helped us raise over £2,000.
The young carers had a great time taking part in their 26 minute glow stick dance. Everyone was dancing round their rooms burning up lots of energy led by Kim, our young carers support worker. Well done to you all!
Whilst this was going on Chloe, one of our young carers, was doing a 26 hour Lego building challenge. The EDP ran an article about her and she even came to the attention of Lego who have since sent her a gift and have been in touch. She received a personal video from some of the UK Lego team who have invited her to look around the offices in London once it is safe and have told her that she is now part of the Lego family. So kind of them.
During the week Alison was using her daily exercise allowance to walk 26 kms and finished off in the pouring rain on the Thursday!
The climax to the challenge was at the virtual young carers group meetings during the week where the young carers were took part in 10 different activities from balancing a book on their head to standing on one leg, all for 2.6 minutes each.
Great results from everyone and we are proud of them all for getting involved in the challenge and having some fun.
